Radiesse® can smooth and enhance key areas of the face:

  • fillers7186 L

Reducing lines between the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds)
  • Filling in the so-called "smile lines" and "frown lines"
  • Diminishing blemishes like acne scars
  • Renewing fullness in the lips, and improving lip lines
  • Restoring the natural contours of the cheeks

RADIESSE, the next-generation cosmetic dermal filler is now FDA approved for moderate to severe facial folds and wrinkles, including nasolabial folds.

RADIESSE both fills and volumizes to provide you with a long-lasting, immediate correction. That's because RADIESSE contains advanced calcium-based microsphere technology that stimulates the growth of new collagen.

RADIESSE consists of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), which has been used for decades in safe, clinical applications. The tiny CaHA microspheres, suspended in a water-based gel carrier, form a "scaffold" that stimulates the natural growth of the patient's own collagen. This unique action restores the fullness and contours of a youthful, healthy appearance with sustained results that lasts an average of one year or more.

RADIESSE is the first facial cosmetic filler with a proven 12 month benefit in multiple clinical studies.

Enhancement with RADIESSE is relatively painless, and any swelling or redness from the injections typically disappears within 2-5 days. You can comfortably return to normal activities after your treatment. You will see results immediately. Unlike products that loose their effectiveness within only a few months (such as collagen), RADIESSE provides years (one to two years) of rejuvenation with intermittent touch ups. Individual results may vary, affected by age, skin type, lifestyle, and muscle activity.

Please note: Although RADIESSE is the more costly of the facial fillers, it is comparably priced because of the longer duration of results. An additional benefit of RADIESSE is that it requires less frequent injections compared to a product like collagen which lasts only 3 months.

Procedure:

The areas for injection are iced and anesthetized with local anesthesia for increased comfort, followed by injections of facial filler using a delicate needle.

Treatment Session:

About 30 minutes depending on the number of areas to be treated.

Side Effects:

Bruising, redness and swelling, usually minor, but may be moderate in some individuals; temporary 2-5 days

Risks:

Rare. Nodularity may need to be treated, but is uncommon.

Recovery:

You can resume normal activities immediately after treatment. The injected areas will be numb for 2-3 hours, and some discomfort may be present after the local wears off.

Duration of Results:

Restylane about 4-6 months; RADIESSE about 1-2 years.
